Intelligent soil moisture monitor to protect agriculture

Soil moisture is the water content in the crop plough layer. It is not only an indicator of soil drought, but also has a profound impact on field climate, soil aeration and nutrient decomposition. At the same time, soil moisture is also one of the key factors for soil microbial activity and healthy growth of crops. Therefore, accurate monitoring of soil moisture is particularly important, which is directly related to the growth of farmland vegetation.

The intelligent soil moisture monitor, which is carefully composed of soil moisture sensors and collectors, can capture subtle changes in the soil environment of the monitored area in an all-round and scientific manner. It can provide soil moisture data of each monitoring point in a timely and accurate manner, and realize long-term continuous monitoring of soil moisture conditions. In addition, the instrument can also be connected to sprinkler and drip irrigation control equipment, and upload data to the cloud server through efficient communication channels to provide growers with real-time soil information monitoring. Based on real and reliable data, growers can formulate more scientific irrigation plans, thereby reducing resource waste, improving crop quality, reducing costs, and maximizing profits.

According to different needs, the intelligent soil moisture monitoring instrument provides two types of options: tubular multi-layer and fork single point. Customers can flexibly deploy the required equipment according to actual conditions. It is particularly worth mentioning that the fork single point soil moisture sensor uses electromagnetic pulse technology to measure the apparent dielectric constant of the soil. Its measurement range is wide, the soil moisture can reach 0~100%, the soil temperature is between -20~50℃, and the soil moisture resolution is extremely high.

Typical application scenarios:

Single-point single-use monitoring method: For crops with shallow root growth, a single-point single-use monitoring method is usually recommended. Its specific application is shown in the figure below:

Single-point multi-purpose monitoring method: For crops with deep root growth, it is recommended to use a single-point multi-purpose monitoring method. Its specific application can be referred to the figure below:

That is, through the bus mode, a data logger can be connected to multiple single-point devices, thereby realizing the function of multi-layer measurement.

Conductivity, as a key parameter for soil and water quality monitoring, must be set within a measurement range that is closely aligned with actual application requirements. Sensor technology demonstrates superior performance in conductivity measurement and can easily cope with a variety of measurement range challenges, thus providing reliable and accurate data support for related monitoring work.

Typical usage:This sensor is particularly suitable for crops with deep root systems. The installation process is simple and quick, as shown in the figure below:
